CHARACTERISTICS OF ARTIFICIAL GRASS
Artificial turf is made of plastic fibers that help it look and feel like natural grass. As a tip, the longer the fibers, the more natural it will appear. Of course, this is always a matter of taste.
At Brikum, we offer two different types of turf, allowing you to choose your preferred fiber size for greater comfort. One is 30 mm and the other is 40 mm, with roll sizes ranging from 1x2 meters to 20x2 meters. This gives you a wider range of options, allowing you to place it on a balcony or in a garden.
PLACEMENT
Once you're absolutely clear on which lawn you've decided on and want to get started and lay it, you'll need to do it as follows:
Land plot
- Remove all types of weeds or vegetation, as well as stones and debris that you may find.
- Install the weed control mesh, overlapping the edges by at least 2 to 3 cm.
- Then unroll the turf, always from the same side and direction. NOTE: Check the turf for defects by combing it. Once it's cut, claims are no longer accepted.
- Cut both ends, at least 2 to 3 stitching lines, even if there is no connection with another roll.
- Position the joints so they fit perfectly. Make sure the threads always run in the same direction, and comb and check that the joint is well concealed before gluing.
- Once the adjustment is made, lift both sides, place the joining tape and its corresponding glue.
- Close both raised sides and make sure the fibers aren't caught underneath. Wait 48 hours before using.
- On the outer edges, secure the turf with staples, ensuring that they are not trapped underneath and can be seen.
- For a good finish before brushing, spread the silica sand at 4-6 kg/m2 and expand it with a special machine, taking advantage of its combing.

DURABILITY AND MAINTENANCE
From the moment it's installed, it can last 15 to 20 years, provided you perform proper maintenance. This maintenance simply consists of sweeping regularly and sprinkling a little water to remove any accumulated dust. Sprinkling it once a month is sufficient.
