Descripción
Keracolor FF is made up of a mixture of cement, particularly fine-grained aggregates, special polymers, special additives and pigments. The use of special water-repellent additives (DropEffect® technology) makes it possible to obtain grouts characterized by high water repellency and, in addition, less soiling and excellent durability.
CHARACTERISTICS
Mixed with water in the indicated proportions and used appropriately, it allows obtaining grouting with the following characteristics
- Water repellency and drop effect
- Good resistance to compression, bending and freeze-thaw cycles and therefore good durability
- A smooth and compact final surface, with low water absorption and therefore can be easily cleaned
- Very good abrasion resistance
- Low shrinkage and therefore absence of cracks and fissures
- Good resistance to acids at pH > 3
- Optimum cost-quality ratio
By mixing Keracolor FF with Fugolastic, a special polymeric additive based on synthetic resins, the final characteristics are improved, achieving adequate resistance even in severe installation conditions (grouting facades, swimming pools, bathrooms, floors subjected to intense traffic). RECOMMENDATIONS
Do not mix Keracolor FF with cement or other products and never add water to the setting mixture.
- Never mix Keracolor FF with brackish or dirty water
- Use the product at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C
- The water in the mixture must be dosed precisely, since an excess can favor the appearance of a whitish patina on the surface of the grout (efflorescence). If mixtures are prepared with different mixing ratios, they may have different color shades. The appearance of efflorescence on the surface of the grout is due to the formation of calcium carbonate and can also be caused by residual moisture contained in adhesives or in mortars that are not completely hydrated or in substrates that are not dry or not adequately protected from rising humidity.
- After filling the joints with the mixture, it is not recommended to sprinkle the grouts with Keracolor FF powder, to avoid color inhomogeneities due to a reduction in mechanical resistance.
- Expansion and division joints, present on walls and floors, should never be filled with Keracolor FF, but with MAPEI elastic sealants.
- Sometimes the surfaces of some tiles or stone material have microporosities or roughness. It is advisable to carry out a preliminary test to check that it can be cleaned and, when necessary, apply a protective treatment on the surface, preventing it from penetrating the joints.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Grouting both outdoors and indoors of ceramic floors and coverings of all types (single-fired, double-fired, porcelain stoneware, etc.), stone material (natural stone, marble, granite, agglomerates, etc.), glass and marble mosaic.

- Grouting tile joints in walls and floors in civil construction
- Grouting pool joints
- Grouting floors with particularly smooth and shiny surfaces (polished porcelain, pre-polished marble, glazed tiles)
- Grouting industrial ceramic flooring, where resistance to chemical agents is not needed (garages, warehouses, etc.)
