Descripción
Keracolor GG from the Mapei brand is made up of a mixture of cement, aggregates of appropriate granulometry, synthetic resins, special additives and pigments, class CG2.
CHARACTERISTICS
Mixed with water in the indicated proportions and used appropriately, it allows grouting with the following characteristics to be obtained:
- Good resistance to compression, bending and freeze-thaw cycles and, therefore, good durability
- Good abrasion resistance
- Low shrinkage and, therefore, absence of cracks and fissures
- Good resistance to acids with pH > 3
- Optimum quality/price ratio
By mixing Keracolor GG with Fugolastic, a special polymeric additive based on synthetic resins, the final characteristics are improved, achieving adequate resistance even in severe service conditions (grouting on facades, swimming pools, bathrooms, floors subjected to intense traffic). RECOMMENDATIONS
- Do not mix Keracolor GG with cement or other products and never add water to the mixture that is setting.
- Never mix Keracolor GG with brackish or dirty water
- Use the product at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C
- The water in the mixture must be dosed precisely, since an excess can favor the appearance of a whitish patina on the surface of the grout (efflorescence). If mixtures are prepared with different mixing ratios, they may have different color shades. The appearance of efflorescence on the surface of the grout is due to the formation of calcium carbonate and can also be caused by residual moisture contained in adhesives or in supports that are not dry or adequately protected from rising moisture.
- After having filled the joints with the mixture, it is not recommended to sprinkle the grout with Keracolor GG powder, to avoid a lack of homogeneity in color and a reduction in mechanical resistance.
- When acid resistance and high hygiene are required, use suitable anti-acid grouting products (e.g. Kerapoxy)
- Expansion and movement joints present on walls and floors should not be filled with Keracolor GG, but with suitable MAPEI elastic sealants.
- Sometimes the surfaces of some tiles or stone material have microporosities or roughness, which make final cleaning difficult. It is advisable to carry out a preliminary test to verify cleanliness and, when necessary, apply a protective treatment to the surface, preventing it from penetrating the joints.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
Grouting, both inside and outside, of ceramic floors and coverings of all types (single-fired, double-fired, porcelain stoneware, etc.), terracotta, exposed bricks and stone material (natural stone, marble, granite, agglomerates, etc. .).

- Filling joints on exterior facades, balconies, terraces and swimming pools
- Grouting floors with rustic finish
- (terracotta, glazed porcelain, antique marble, clinker, monoction)
- Filling tile joints in walls and floors of buildings
- Grouting industrial ceramic floors, where resistance to chemical agents is not needed (garages, warehouses, etc.)
